19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

Practice Business Lessons from Jesus :

I’ve been reading Jesus CEO, and it contained a great deal of wisdom that its taken probably 12 months or more to really learn.  However, it proves true both in spiritual and business realms (although I believe the attempt to separate the two is misguided).  Laurie Beth Jones recounts the following story:

Recently I met an engineer who developed a product that coiuld help many people.  He had not release it yet because he cannot come up with the perfect logo for his company. I am not mocking this man’s individualism. I just wonder how far he can go with this particular belief system.  The truth is that good ideas, noble intentions, brilliant inventions, and miraculous discoveries go nowhere unless somebody forms a team to act on them.  Whoever forms a team to carry out the best ideas wins.

Jesus formed a team.

Its important to find others who complement our strengths to do the things we can’t, so we can focus on our business, family, and spiritual lives.

Ultimately, strategic and smart outsourcing (or even exchanging services) in places where we lack strengths, aptitudes, and gifts takes time to learn—but is a lesson thats
